The Institute of the Carmelite Sisters of St. Teresa (C.S.S.T) was founded in 1887 by Mother Teresa of St. Rose of Lima(a resident of Chennai) in the town of Ernakulam in Kerala.It was a time when the vast majority of people were living in squalor and misery and the poor were compelled to be on the streets to earn a living. A caste-ridden society was the order of the day.Mother Teresa, an educationist with a spiritual and social thrust and great zeal, was convinced that all human beings are children of God, with a right to live in dignity.With the first foundation, St. Teresa’s Covent Ernakulam, she started a school where all types of students, irrespective of their social and financial status, were admitted.
 
 
 
 
 
Cocurricular
 
Co-curricular activities have an important place in the curriculum to bring out the best in each individual student. The school takes care and interest to identify the talents and skills in each child, enhance, elevate them and build confidence in the young minds right from the budding age. As a part of this, school conducts various co-curricular activities like :- -Students’ council -inter school competition -Celebration of national festivals and different religious festivals -Inter house competition -Annual Day -Sports Day -Exhibitions -Publication of News Letters Efforts are made by the school to inculcate in the child sound principles of conduct and action , values of honesty, trust, co-operation, self- reliance, and hard work. They are inculcated through various school activities which include sports, dance, painting, various language symposia, Science, social studies, computer, Maths quest Olympiad etc. These activities are held at the inter -class and inter -house level. The Sports Day, conducted at the end of December, is the culmination of all these activities and the best house is awarded the Rolling Trophy on that occasion.
 
Sports
 
The Sports Department of Holy Angels' Convent School is functioning well under the able direction of the three physical trainers. Throughout the year it conducts a number of inter-house competitions in volleyball, basket ball, badminton, table tennis and throw ball. Besides, it conducts annual sports meet every year in a grant level. The school is taking special interest in the sports and physical realm of every angelite that the expert physical trainers are giving special coaching for volley ball, basket ball, badminton and table tennis during evening hours from 5.00 p.m. to 6.30 p.m. Every year the school team of volley ball & badminton in senior level is taken to interschool competitions also.
