The Institute of the Carmelite Sisters of St. Teresa (C.S.S.T) was founded in 1887 by Mother Teresa of St. Rose of Lima(a resident of Chennai) in the town of Ernakulam in Kerala. It was a time when the vast majority of people were living in squalor and misery and the poor were compelled to be on the streets to earn a living. A caste-ridden society was the order of the day.Mother Teresa, an educationist with a spiritual and social thrust and great zeal, was convinced that all human beings are children of God, with a right to live in dignity. With the first foundation, St. Teresa’s Covent Ernakulam, she started a school where all types of students, irrespective of their social and financial status, were admitted.

It gives me great pleasure to see the Holy Angels’ School grow to greater heights. I am privileged to be here to witness another milestone at the launching of the Holy Angels High School website. This website is to be launched in the hope that it will become for parents, students and visitors a site of invaluable sources of school news and timely information. It will also enable everyone to become familiar with our school, its policies and other procedures that are basic for the smooth functioning of our school as well as to provide you with updated school news schedules and events. The website will be updated regularly so as to provide notices and bulletins and other news on a variety of subjects. This school has a very long tradition and our staff takes great pride in providing a safe and secure learning environment, while at the same time offering a value based education. Our entire staff is committed to establishing a school environment that allows our students to flourish and to grow intellectually, spiritually, emotionally and socially. I would encourage Holy Angles’ High School staff members as well as, the school council and clubs to be regular contributors to the website. With access to information anywhere, anytime-knowledge today is no longer restricted to physical class room. In fact, the real learning is happening outside the four walls of schools, colleges and universities through internet and social media sites. With a well designed site, you can project the image and professionalism of our school. It’s actually better to have no website at all than to have one that makes your school look bad. The website speaks volumes about the school and is an important part of school. A user-friendly, clean and content-rich website is key to the success of any business big or small!! Especially for a school where the students can use it as a tool to education. It becomes a window to them to gain knowledge through the internet. We’re moving into a new age where internet is a source where one can easily connect with more people in this IT world. I congratulated the Management, Principal and the staffs for all their hard work in making Holy Angels’ school a special and wonderful place. Wish you all the very best designing the website for the school.

By creating a website Holy Angels is showing its commitment to mastering the new information and communication technologies for the benefit of education. It is an inescapable fact that in this competitive age a school website is a showcase that indicates to a parent that the school is committed to achieving Government targets for getting children connected to the National net-work for learning. If competition for the pupil is not reason enough, there are other for more positive benefits for a school having a ‘presence’ on the web and developing the use of internettechnology. This website can be powerful presentation tool for teachers, an on-line library for students and a vehicle for self-expression for all the members of the educational community.
“Your light must shine before others, that they may see the good deeds and glorify your Heavenly Father”. [Mt:5:16]
