With this belief a ‘Blood donation Camp was organisized by the Health Club and Social Action Club of Holy angels’ convent School on 12th May 2012 in association with Anglite Alumni and Lions Blood Camp New Delhi. The chief objective of the camp was to inculcate the feeling of compassion, patriotism and social service among youth. Surprisingly. they not only participated with zeal but also displayed their enthusiasm by coming forward to donate blood. They even convinced their parents, relatives and others to come forward in large numbers for this social cause.
Donors included teaching and non-teaching staff, parents, and members of alumni society All the parents were informed through a written notice. To spread the news of upcoming blood donation camp posters, banners, slogans were put up all over the campus in every nook and corner where students and parents walked around. To motive the parents, students of every class were initially given awareness about the significance of blood donation and day to day requirements of human blood of various groups.There were two teams of doctors. One team did the tests and second team collected blood from the donors. By 10.00 A.M donors rushed in, volunteers got busy and guided all donors in all perspectives that are right from the registration desk fill they are coming out after donating the blood. All those who donated blood were given juice and snacks and also a gift as a token of love. Total members of donors registered were 333 out of which 207 could donate bloodOverall the camp was a great success and helpful to the society. A complete blood test report was sent to the donors afterwards. The team of doctors thanked our principal and teachers for their co-operation.

Keeping above mentioned objectives in mind CBSE had requested schools to set up health clubs in order to implement the Comprehensive School Health program. The Health Club in Holy Angels’ Convent School was formed in 2009. It is focusing on the overall well being comprising emotional, social and mental health of the students. It conducts the activities which are detailed in the school Health Manuals.
It organizes different activities like aerobics completion, extempore, advertisement competition, salad making competition, poetry writing, one act play, health week etc. The topics selected for the activities are based on physical fitness, balanced diet, nutritive food, communicable diseases, first aid, personal and environmental hygiene, behavior and life skills etc. This will harmonize the effective partnership of health and education sector to facilitate the holistic approach to child.
